Shopping around for graphic design packages can feel a bit like comparing phone plans. Every option lists a price and a handful of inclusions, but it’s hard to tell which one suits your business. Pick too little and you end up paying for extras later. Pick too much and you’ve spent money on things you won’t use for years.
At LB Graphics, we’ve designed 100+ brands for small businesses and trades all over Australia. Below are the questions we work through when a client asks which package to choose, so you can compare your options yourself.
Start with what your business needs to communicate

Before you look at a single price, think about where customers first come across your business. For a tradie, it might be the side of a ute, a quote handed over on site or a Google search late at night. For a salon or café, it might be the shopfront, an Instagram post or a business card left on the counter.
Write down those first touchpoints. Then ask what each one needs to tell people in a few seconds: who you are, what you do and why they should trust you.
Next, separate what you need now from what can wait. A new business usually needs a logo, business cards and a social media kit straight away. A full brand style guide, signage or a multi-page website may be important, but it doesn’t always have to happen in week one. Sorting this out early stops you overspending at the start and gives you a plan for later.
Match design packages to your next business step
The right package depends on where your business is heading next.
- If you’re starting out, you need to look professional from day one. Our logo and branding packages start from $450 and include a logo suite (3 concepts, 2 revisions), business card design, a clothing mockup and a social media kit.
- If you’re established and quoting bigger jobs or hiring staff, stationery and consistency matter more. Higher tiers add a letterhead and email signature, and our Gold package adds brand style guidelines and site signage design.
- If word of mouth is no longer enough, a website is usually the next step. Our websites start from $950 for a 1 to 3 page WordPress site, and our logo + website package from $1,750 gives you a new brand and a website to match, with domain and hosting set up.
Whatever you choose, check the scope rather than assuming a package covers every service. “Branding” can mean a logo and nothing else to one designer, and a complete identity to another. You can see what’s in each of our options on the packages page.
What to check before comparing packages
Two packages at a similar price can include very different work. Before you compare them, get clear answers on the points below.
Start with what you’ll actually receive. It might be a logo, a business card design, social templates or a website. Ask for a list rather than a general description.
Check the file formats. Your logo has to work for print, signage, embroidery and the web, so ask whether you’ll get every format you need, including versions for light and dark backgrounds.
Think about where the design will be used. A logo that looks great on a screen can fall apart when it’s stitched onto a polo shirt or printed on a corflute sign.
Ask how many concepts you’ll see and how many rounds of changes are included. Our logo suites include 3 concepts and 2 revisions, so you know what to expect.
For websites, ask who writes the words and supplies the photos. Missing content is one of the most common reasons projects stall.
Finally, ask how long each stage usually takes and what the designer needs from you to keep things moving.
Look beyond the package price
A cheaper package can end up costing more if you need to pay for extra files, extra revisions or a redesign a year later.
When you compare quotes, line up equivalent scopes. If one package includes business card design and a social media kit and another doesn’t, they aren’t really the same offer. Note anything that might become extra work later, such as adding website pages, setting up a domain or creating signage files.
A website also needs looking after once it’s live. Site Care is $99 a month and covers theme, plugin and PHP updates, daily backups, security checks and 2 small site changes a month. If you want more people to find you in search, our SEO plans start at $199 a month and include a monthly site audit, tracked keywords and a monthly report.
Then look at the designer’s portfolio. Have they worked with businesses like yours? Do their logos hold up across different uses? You can browse brands we’ve designed for trades, transport, beauty and retail businesses on our work page. Past work tells you more than a price list.
Prepare a short brief before you enquire

You don’t need a long document to get a useful quote. A short brief helps any designer understand your business quickly and recommend the right package. Include:
- what your business does and who your customers are
- any existing materials, such as an old logo, colours you like or photos
- where the design will be used first (vehicle, website, uniforms, socials)
- your top priorities and anything that can wait
- a rough timeframe and budget
Use the packages page as a starting point, not a final decision. If nothing fits exactly, that’s fine. We quote custom projects too.
Send your brief through our contact page or call 0422 721 806 (Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm). We’ll talk through what you need and recommend a package.
